Cairns New Year's Eve Events
The family-friendly film "DC League of Super Pets" will be shown at 6:30 PM at Fogarty Park after a meal. There will be two fireworks displays this year—one at midnight and one at 8:30 PM- suitable for families. Pick a spot along the Esplanade lawns to have a picnic.
Take note that from 4 PM on Friday, December 30 to 5 AM on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, the Esplanade will be closed to all traffic between Shields Street and Aplin Street to accommodate New Year's Eve celebrations. From 6 PM on December 31 to 1 AM on January 1, 2023, the Esplanade road between Spence Street and Florence Street will also be closed to all traffic.
